The Delaware County Equalization Board met in Regular session on May 29, 2007 at 9:50 A.M. with the following members present: Jacqueline Wright-Chairman, Art Shackelford-Member, and Secretary–Carol Fortner.   Don Youngblood-Member was absent.  Chairwoman-Jacqueline Wright called the Meeting to order and the following business was transacted.

 

Motion was made by Art Shackelford and seconded by Jacqueline Wright to approve of the Board of Equalization Agenda of May 29th, 2007 as posted. All voted aye. Motion carried

 

Motion was made by Art Shackelford and seconded by Jacqueline Wright to approve of Minutes of regular Equalization meeting dated May 15th, 2007.  All voted aye. Motion carried

 

Motion was made by Art Shackelford and seconded by Jacqueline Wright to deliver Final Decisions on properties submitted for Formal appeal on May  15th, 2007.

 

                Carolyn Allen- Owner has two (2) properties for review.  Lives at one property on Ridge Road.  Member Art Shackelford visited both properties.  It was decided that there was ice damage from the Ice Storm to the patio area, steps needed repaired.  Trees need maintenance.  A Decision was made by Shackelford to alter value of land to $121,500.00 and the home to $243,791.00 for a total of $343,791.00.  Second property at 29-24-22 land sustained current value home was reduced from $59,212.00 to $45,000.00 for a total of $117,500.00.   All voted aye. Motion carried.

 

A motion was made by Art Shackelford and seconded by Jacqueline Wright to review formal appeals on the following property:  

                John Linehan –This property is on the lakefront.  Home is 4000 sq. feet.  Mr. Linehan stated that a comparable neighboring home sold for $800,000.00 recently.  His market value has jumped up 37% this year.  He states that the neighboring properties have lots of junk laying around and are unkempt which makes his property less easy to sell.  Art Shackelford will visit the property today with the owner.  Final Decision to be made on 5/31/07.  All voted aye. Motion carried.

 

A motion was made by Art Shackelford and seconded by Jacqueline Wright to review/approve Delaware Co. Five Year Manufacturing Exemption Applications for 2007 for three(3) companies: Pride Plating, Inc; Precision Machine & Mfg.; All State Tank Mfg.  Applications were approved.  All voted aye. Motion carried.
