DELAWARE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MEETING

January 7, 2008

The Board of County Commissioners of Delaware County, Oklahoma, met in Regular Session on January 7, 2008 at 9:00 A.M.  Agenda was posted January 2, 2008 at 4:02 P.M. on east entrance door.  This meeting was recessed at 2:15 P.M.

 

Members of the Board present were Commissioner Dave Kendrick-Chairman, Commissioner Ken Crowder-Member and Commissioner Billy Cornell-Member.   Board of Delaware County Commissioners is hereby authorized to take action on the following items:

 

AGENDA #1-A motion was made by Commissioner Crowder and seconded by Commissioner Cornell to approve the agenda as posted.  Roll call: Commissioner Kendrick-yes, Commissioner Crowder-yes, Commissioner Cornell-yes. Motion carried.

 

AGENDA #2-A motion was made by Commissioner Crowder and seconded by Commissioner Cornell to approve minutes of Regular Meeting of 12/31/07.  Roll call: Commissioner Kendrick-yes, Commissioner Crowder-yes, Commissioner Cornell-yes. Motion carried.

AGENDA #4-A motion was made by Commissioner Kendrick and seconded by Commissioner Cornell to receive and file monthly reports from county offices as follows: County Clerk’s Cashbook, Health Dept., Assessor’s Dept., Treasurer’s Dept. and Election Board.  Roll call: Commissioner Kendrick-yes, Commissioner Crowder-yes, Commissioner Cornell-yes.  Motion carried.

 

AGENDA #5-A motion was made by Commissioner Kendrick and seconded by Commissioner Crowder to receive/file/discuss any reports from engineers for Delaware County road projects.   No information needed at this time.   Roll call: Commissioner Kendrick-yes, Commissioner Crowder-yes, Commissioner Cornell-yes. Motion carried.

 

AGENDA #6-A motion was made by Commissioner Cornell and seconded by Commissioner Kendrick to appoint the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners for 2008.  Ken Crowder was nominated and appointed as the 2008 Chairman of the Board of Commissioners.  Roll call: Commissioner Kendrick-yes, Commissioner Crowder-yes, Commissioner Cornell-yes. Motion carried.

 

AGENDA #7-A motion was made by Commissioner Kendrick and seconded by Commissioner Cornell  to remove from the agenda the motion of Notice of Tort Claim from the Sheriff’s Dept. regarding a county vehicle damaged, due to lack of paperwork until further notice.  Roll call: Commissioner Kendrick-yes, Commissioner Crowder-yes, Commissioner Cornell-yes. Motion carried.

 

AGENDA #8-A motion was made by Commissioner Crowder and seconded by Commissioner Kendrick to approve resolution listing county Holidays for 2008 for all county offices as follows: January 21, 2008-ML King Day; February 18, 2008-President’s Day; March 21, 2008-Good Friday; May 26, 2008-Memorial Day; July 4, 2008-Independence Day; September 1, 2008-Labor Day; October 13, 208-Columbus Day; November 11, 2008-Veteran’s Day; November 27 7 28, 2008-Thanksgiving Day; December 25 & 26, 2008-Christmas Holiday; January 1, 2009-New Year’s Day.  Roll call:  Commissioner Kendrick-yes, Commissioner Crowder-yes, Commissioner Cornell-yes.  Motion carried.

 

AGENDA #9-A Motion was made by Commissioner Cornell and seconded by Commissioner Kendrick to approve of the appointment or re-appointment of representatives to the Grand Gateway Board of Directors for 2008 as follows: Dave Kendrick and Ken Crowder.  Roll Call:  Commissioner Kendrick-yes, Commissioner Crowder-yes, Commissioner Cornell-yes.  Motion carried.

 

AGENDA #10-A motion was made by Commissioner Kendrick and seconded by Commissioner Crowder to advertise for sealed bids on striping of roads for a period of six (6) months.  Bids will be opened in regular meeting dated January 28, 2008 at 9:00AM in the Commissioner’s office Jay, OK.   Bids will be received no later than 1/25/08 at 4:00PM in the County Clerk’s office, Jay, OK.   Roll Call:  Commissioner Kendrick-yes, Commissioner Crowder-yes, Commissioner Cornell-yes.  Motion carried.

 

AGENDA #11-The motion to approve of closeout of FY 06-07 purchase orders was not needed at this time.  Roll Call:  Commissioner Kendrick-yes, Commissioner Crowder-yes, Commissioner Cornell-yes.  Motion carried.
