DELAWARE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MEETING
January 23, 2008
The Board of County Commissioners of Delaware County, Oklahoma, met in Special Session on January 23, 2008 at 1:04 P.M. Agenda was posted January 18, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. on east entrance door. This meeting was recessed at 3:45 P.M.
Members of the Board present were Commissioner Ken Crowder-Chairman, Commissioner Dave Kendrick-Member and Commissioner Billy Cornell-Member. Board of Delaware County Commissioners is hereby authorized to take action on the following items:
AGENDA #1-Motion was made by Commissioner Kendrick and seconded by Commissioner Crowder to approve of agenda as posted. Roll Call: Commissioner Kendrick-yes, Commissioner Crowder-yes, Commissioner Cornell-yes. Motion carried.
AGENDA #2-Motion to go into Executive Session to discuss the employment of Don Murphy-E-911 Dept. and Shelby Haggard- Delaware Co. E-911 dispatcher, pursuant to Oklahoma Statutes, Title 25 Sec. 307 (B)(1). Roll Call: Commissioner Kendrick-yes, Commissioner Crowder-yes, Commissioner Cornell-yes. Motion carried.
AGENDA #3-Motion was made by Commissioner Kendrick and seconded by Commissioner Cornell to return to regular session, wherein Commissioner Crowder asked Sheriff Blackfox if he would support any decision/action that the Board of County Commissioners might take regarding the agenda item #2 wherein Sheriff Blackfox stated that he would support any decisions/action made by the Commission. The following actions were taken concerning the agenda item #2 as follows:
(1) Board of County Commissioners will now hold authority over the dispatch department. Don Murphy will now only hold authority over E-911 Department . All vote aye.
(2) Regarding employment of Shelby Haggard-The Board of County Commissioners is relieving Shelby Haggard of her duties as dispatcher for the good of the county. All vote aye.
(3) As of 3:30 PM today January 23, 2008-Dispatch Dept. will be turned over to the Sheriff’s Dept. jurisdiction effective immediately. Roll Call: Commissioner Kendrick-yes, Commissioner Crowder-yes, Commissioner Cornell-yes. Motion carried.
AGENDA #4-Motion to adjourn Special Meeting. Roll Call: Commissioner Kendrick-yes, Commissioner Crowder-yes, Commissioner Cornell-yes. Motion carried
There being no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned.
