The Delaware County Equalization Board met in
Regular session on May 27, 2009 at 8:30 A.M. with the following members
present: Jacqueline Wright-Chairwoman, Art Shackelford-Member, Don
Youngblood-Member, and Secretary–Carol Fortner. Chairwoman-Jacqueline Wright called the Meeting to order and the following
business was transacted.
A motion was made by Art Shackelford and seconded by Don Youngblood to approve of the
Board of Equalization Agenda of May 27, 2009 as posted. All voted aye. Motion
carried
A motion was made by Art Shackelford and seconded by
Don Youngblood to approve of minutes of regular meeting dated May 13th,
2009. All voted aye. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Art Shackelford and seconded by
Don Youngblood to review formal appeals on property assessments for the
following property:
Patrick & Daniel Williams Property-Patrick
Williams appeared before the Board of Equalization. Mr. Williams stated as followed:
He feels taxes have been reasonable however, they did go up this
year. He noted that the value had been
raised at about $10,000.00 a year and that this year it was raised $20,000.00
from $86,000 up to $106,000. He stated
that the inside of the home was not completed and that he had been working on
the inside a little at a time as funds would allow. Land and home is paid for. Not waterfront property. Has acreage. He was concerned that the value
assessment will continue to raise. Art
Shackelford will visit the property.
Final decision will be made at next meeting of May 29th,
2009. All voted aye. Motion carried.
